Heading to St. Augustine? Then you're gonna need a place to eat. Denise and I spent a grueling week there checking out as many resturants as we could so we could bring you the best choices. It's a hard job, but someone had to do it. Every place listed here has at least one item that Denise could eat and enjoy that wasn't a salad. Enjoy!

Name: Conch House
Address(s): 57 Comares Ave
Fare: A really excellnt full-service resturant. Main focus on seafood but they have steaks and burgers as well.
Bottom Line: With it's hut-style decor, and position right on the water, this is one resturant that you just don't want to miss. Plus, they have an excellent Key-Lime pie.
Name: Sunset Grille
Address(s): Located Somewhere on A1A
Fare: Excellend seafood, good ribs and burgers.
Bottom Line: Don't dismiss this place because of their open-air, almost dumpy style main dining area, you'll hate yourself. This is the only resturant we went to twice, and we loved it both times. Really good food and good drinks. For all you meat eaters, be on the look-out for their All-You-Can-Eat specials.
Name: The Manatee Cafe
Address(s): 179-A San marco Ave
Fare: "Delicious, healthful cuisine prepared using pure unfiltered water and when available, certified organically grown fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, herbs, spices and coffees"
Bottom Line: With it's plethora of choices, this could be the hardest place for a vegan to eat. For the meat eater they make an excellent Cajun Chicken sandwich. The only down side is that they use cheese in a lot of their dishes and their sodas come in cans and are kind of pricey. Don't dismiss it tho, you'll kick yourself if you miss this.
Name: The Waves Cafe
Address(s): 4255 A1A South
Fare: It's really hard to describe. You really can't pin down just what kind of resturant this is. They serve a wide range of styles of food. From pasta to seafood to burgers to Tabouli and Hummus.
Bottom Line: Wow, this is really an awsome place. Everything we had was excellent, and there was a LOT of it. We all left feeling very very full. It's hard to describe the atmosphere, it was almost like you were having dinner at your Mom's house, with a menu. Make this your second stop after The Manatee Cafe.
Name: Beachcomber Restaurant
Address(s): 2 "A" Street off A1A
Fare: Burgers, seafood, wings and breakfast.
Bottom Line: This place is actually on the beach, which is pretty cool. It's a tad rustic but the food is good, plus Denise got a black-eyed pea salad that she really liked. The down side is that they have a crappy replacement policy for their meals. You want salsa instead of cheese, that'll be another buck ninety-five, I guess it's a sad commentary on our times.
