Asheville

Name: Laughing Seed Cafe
Type of food: Vegetarian
Price Range: Budget ($5 - $10 per meal)
Review: Everything a vegetarian could want (salad, soup, burritos, nachos, mock sloppy joes, mock chicken salad, etc.) and even items that resemble meat for the meat eaters. Although most meat eaters may not like fake meat? This is an amazing restaurant with a pub downstairs.

Boone

Name: Angelica's
Type of food: Vegetarian
Price Range: Inexpensive
Review: Angelica's is vegetarian. But if the omnivore likes gigantic burritos or stir-fries, everyone should be happy, cuz it's all good and way vegan friendly. They have enormous burritos, sandwiches, etc. It's really easy to order vegan. Super delicious, colorful food. Sprout jars as decor. It's on King St. by the Boone Bagelry in downtown Boone. To non-Boonies, this may sound vague, but downtown is all of 3 blocks of King St, and anyone can point you to the Bagelry. (The Bagelry, by the way, is ok for breakfast-- good breakfast potatoes and tempeh on the menu!)

Price Range: Student Budget
Review: My husband and I used to live in Charlotte, NC. Talk about home of meat and potatoes. My husband has been vegetarian for almost 8 yrs and I have been vegetarian for 2 yrs. Yes, he converted me. Now we are both vegans. Yes, I converted him. We used to go to Fat City once a week to eat the best Veggie Burgers ever. The owner of the deli/bar makes them from scratch. I am not too sure if they are vegan or not. We were not vegan at the time so we never asked. But Fat City has amazing food for vegetarians and meat eaters. It is in a really old building, but very neat. It looks kinda like a whole in the wall, but anyone from yuppies to freakos go there. We do not live in Charlotte, NC anymore. But Fat City rocks!

Name: Souper Salad
Price Range: The prices are great as well, all you can eat for $4.99 that's the salad bar, soup bar and various home made breads (potatoe bar is extra, but not much).
Review: Souper Salad is the BEST place to eat for vegans and meat eaters alike. It has a great salad bar, potato bar and soup bar (however the soup bar is more for the non-vegan). They also serve sandwiches if you so desired. It's perfect for both vegans and non-vegans.

Review: The meals can run in the more expensive range but are totally worth it!! The ecletic atmosphere allows people to come in formal wear or just jeans and a tee shirt and fit in. The food is awesome, everything is great! There are always vegetarian and vegan options on the menu, but also offer meat options as well. The menu changes every day, but everything is guaranteed to be delicious!!!
