Name: THE URBAN ONION
Location: 116 Legion Way
Review: Several vegetarian and vegan choices and
non-vegetarian choices. A long wait for your food,
but always worth it. Very reasonable prices.
Favorites--Lentil Soup, Thai Burrito with Peanut
Sauce, Stir-Fry Vegetables over Hash Browns. Tofu and
Textured Protein available as substitute for most
items. Wait Persons know what Vegan Food is.

Name: ARAYA'S VEGETARIAN PALACE
Location: 4732 University Way NE, University District
Price Range: College students can afford this.
Review: Wonderful Thai food! One side of the restaurant
serves strictly Vegan food. The other serves meat.
Yes, you can sit together on either side if one of you
is a vegan and the other is not. They are "pure" in
their cooking methods--cooking vegan items separately
from meat and dairy or egg items to include utensils.
Super Lunch Buffet Tuesday - Saturday!
5/1/2002: The restaurant has been
exclusively vegan for years now. The buffet is available every day but
Sunday from 11:30-3:30 (and sometimes later), and they open at around 5pm
on Sunday. The buffet price is $5.99 - extremely reasonable considering
the variety of delectable food they serve. My two favorite items off the
menu? The spring rolls and the panang curry. Mmmm.

Name: Bamboo Garden
Location: 364 Roy St. in Seattle, WA #206-282-6616
Type of Food: Chinese Food
Price Range: Inexpensive (Same price as Chinese food anywhere else. Remember how
much food you always get)
Review: Yes! Finally! Craving Chinese food, but afraid to order because they
might use chicken broth? Bamboo Garden's 120 items are totally vegan!
Well except for the fortune cookies, which do have eggs. The menu will
freak you out. The menu lists everything as poultry, seafood, pork, &
beef, but it is not! The fake meats are made from vegetable protein. The
service is wonderful & quick. My favorite right now is the Sesame
"Chicken".

Type of Food: A variety of food..pasta, nachos, sandwiches, etc..
Price Range: Inexpensive & a lot of food
Review: It is all vegetarian, but not all vegan. I believe any item on the
menu can be ordered vegan. My favorite right now is pasta w/ pesto sauce
& garlic bread. And nachos (blue corn chips, chili, crumbled crispy
tofu, & salsa). Lots more to choose from than just pasta & nachos.
