Name:Monty's Blueplate Diner
Location: 2089 Atwood Ave
Review:Monty's always has a lot of vegan and veggie options, including great salads, sandwiches and even veggie meatloaf.
Name:Sunprint Cafe
Location: Heritage Square Shopping Center, 702 S. Whitney Way
Review:This is a contemporary American bistro with a foreign accent. Everything is made from scratch, from salad dressings to salsa, hearty soups, breads and desserts.
There is not a deep fryer on the premises. The classy atmosphere and Big Band background music is set off by a 48-foot mural of the Manhattan skyline, circa
1930. Noted for its gourmet bakery and ethnic dishes with an emphasis on fresh vegetables, chicken and fish -- charcoal burgers are the only beef dish served --
Sunprint is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week and serves a wide range of alcoholic beverages, including wine. Except for dinner, orders are
placed at the counter. In Heritage Square Shopping Center, Sunprint is a great place for friends, family and business people to gather; it well represents Madison's
casually sophisticated persona. Reservations are accepted for all meals, and a few tables are available outside during warmer months. Affordable. Very willing to
accommodate vegans.

Review: This hip little restaurant on the East side of the city offers numerous

some wonderful vegan choices including the black bean burrito and a cold
veggie pocket sandwich with hummus This place can get pretty busy at
dinner-- while you wait, check out the adjoining organic food market and deli
counter, filled with fresh salads and entrees to heat at home.

Name: Lake Side Inn Cafe

Price Range: Upscale-- not quite a student budget, but a great place for students to
take their parents (when they're buying!)

Review: This quaint little restaurant has a vast menu of fish, beef, and pork,
but more importantly also offers several vegan pastas including spinach with
tomato and onion, or artichoke hearts with crushed garlic, tomato, onion, and
black olives, (WOW!) or pasta primavera. They like to top these with cheese
though, so make sure you request it without! Their entire menu is on their
