Okay, this is going to be a little more expanded than the previous updates since there isn't much new with Fred. However there has been a couple of incidents featuring the other doggies and since Fred lives with them I thought I ought to include their exploits in here as well.
Something about Halloween seemd to being out the worst in the doggies. Friday night before Halloween, and just a couple hours before our Halloween party the dogs decided to get into a fight. Not a small fight mind you, a full-on, gonna-rip-out-your-throat fight, and I feel partly responsible. I was out playing with the dogs, swinging C.C's rug around and she was chasing it. At the same time Taz and Fred were returning from chasing down and sniffing the ball I had thrown (they bring it back when they get good and ready). Well, I swung the rug and Taz ran into it and CC went after it and then all hell broke loose. Taz and CC were at each other, bad. Fred, fortunately was a spectator. I on the other hand had had no expierence in dog fights, much less breaking them up. Being a bit bull headed I was about to enter the fray and pull them apart myself then the voice of reason (Denise) came out of the house. Being more expierenced, Denise grabbed the hose and turned it on full blast on the fighting dogs.
This didn't faze them, I was starting to worry that someone might not make it to halloween. Denise continued with the hose, yelling at them and spraying them point blank in the face. Still they fought. Around the back yard they went, finally I guess they got tired of getting sprayed in the face and let go of each other, which was good because Fred was starting to get involved at that time too and the only thing worse than two fighting dogs is three fighting dogs.
We managed to get them apart and inspect for wounds. Taz had a nick on the ear and CC had a tooth through the lip, but were otherwise okay. They have since healed nicely and did not require a trip tp the vet. I'll tell you tho, that was one of the most stressful things I've been a part of, it took Denise several days to relax from that incident. Since then there have been no more fights and that's just the way we like it.
